Does anyone know if the Barclay farm the Twp was going to auction on Friday, June 15th was, in fact, auctioned? I can't find any news clippings re: it, and the auctioneer hasn't returned my calls. Help!

The news article below indicates the auction was held on June 15. I could not find any info about whether the farm was sold or not.

-----------------------------------------

The 190 acres of preserved farmland that makes up the Barclay property, complete with its historic 1860 farmhouse located on the Barclay South farm, has been patiently awaiting the arrival of a new farmer since the township purchased it for preservation in 2000.

On June 15, the township hopes finally to auction off the Barclay North and South farms and switch the preserved land's ownership back into the hands of a private owner, after long legal disputes were resolved by a state Superior Court ruling made in Cranbury's favor.

Committeeman Richard Stannard said the Township Committee is looking forward to selling the land, which he said is extremely valuable and highly regarded, even outside of the township.
...

Bob Dann, vice president of operations for Max Spann, the company in charge of the property's auction, said the Barclay property is ideal for a number of different agricultural uses.

Twp. Clerk called and said it auctioned for $2.1 million. The auctioneeer had an additional 10% premium on top of the bid price. Gee, wonder what kind of farmer could afford that price!!

The search for alternative energy sources to power vehicles (imagine vegitable oil powered hybrid cars) might make farming a hot business in the future. Laughing
