With the present work underway for the replacement of the dam there are considerable amounts of sediments being washed into the Cranbury Brook. As of today 1-13-2014 there are numerous violations of erosion control measures that have not been implemented which will lead to the degradation of water quality and eutrophication of the Cranbury Brook. This should lead to the unnessary requirement of application for "after the fact" filing of Stream Cleaning Permits and the expense associated with their implementation. lf one looks at the easterly side of the Cranbury Brook on the east side of the 130 bridge over the brook, you will see what happened when similar erosion control measures were not taken during the building of the warehouses. The sediments now in the lake are a direct result of that failure to implement proper erosion control measures. The "Hill" in the park is made from contaminated sediments dredged from the lake, they are also a result of failure to control runoff sediments from years past. We now should know better and should be careful to take action now; at the beginning of this dam rebuilding; and not be doing a costly remediation after the project is completed. It is most certainly the responsibility of the township officals ie: Committee members that we have elected, to Protect our valuable natural resources and they should rely on both their qualified staff professionals along with the volunteer appointed Environmental Commission members to insure we don't compromise a valuable resource. Now is the time to act not after more damage is done.

And what did the TC say when you spoke to them about this? I am sure you spoke to them since you are so concerned and did not just vent here anonymousley about it.

Please cite violations, including what laws or codes are being violated. We can't just take your word for it.
