Greetings All,
I'm looking to establish communication with any Davisons in Cranbury. I believe I'm related to Ancil McLean Davison and his descendants and am trying to firmly establish that connetion. My most distant ancestor is James Davison (b. 1745) and am trying to connect James as a Grandson of William Davison and Margaret Oliphant. The paper trail has doesn't seem to be there to state categorically who James' father was. If any Davison males would consider Y-DNA test (through Family Tree DNA - www.ftdna.com), that would be most helpful. I'm fairly certain Ancil's line traces back to William and Margaret through a different son of their's than mine so any information would be helpful. Take care and I'll have to make a trip to Cranbury soon since I've never visited.

There is a family of Davison's that live on Cranbury Neck Road, and down the street is Ancil Davison Road |

Sad to say, it's been nearly a year and a half and I have not had any connection to a Cranbury Davison. I've been active in paternal YDNA testing for over 2 years now and was hoping to establish or disprove any genetic connections but so far, no responses. I've since visited Cranbury many times and it sure is a very lovely town. My connections are supposed to go back to the late 1600's to early 1700's and getting a YDNA match to a descendant who never left that area would be a huge discovery. Regardless, it's a great place to visit and I look forward to getting there for the next Cranbury Day after Labor Day.
Cheers,

I should have added, I've since come the conclusion I don't believe the main Cranbury Davisons are descended from William Davison and Margaret Oliphant of Monmouth County but are of the William Davison from Jamesburg, circa 1684/85. Once again I'd like to hear from any male descendants. Take care and see ya'll after next Labor Day |
