Is it me, or did they do a crap job on that year-long construction job on the Main St. dam/bridge thingy? The road is bumpy and lumpy-not smooth. Is it going to stay that way? OY! |

Maybe it's a speed bump to slow down traffic. |

Once the cones are down and the railing is up and the contractors have all gone home, the project will be done. Not yet. Weather permitting, the plan is that Thursday and Friday this week the road will be temporarily closed for several hours each day while the top layer is applied. Then let us know what you think of the year long project! I for one think it looks great. |

Just a thought, why dont the workers pave the road at night or during the weekend as not to obstruct the flow of traffic during the day/week??? |

If you read the other posts, you'll see the construction was delayed when they discovered a large void under the spillway that must have been washed out. They needed to wait for the proper engineering and permits to complete that portion, causing the delay. They are also mandated by the town to start later and shut down prior to 3:15 due to school drop off and dismissal. Actually very good planning as far as I'm concerned. I do agree it will be nice when it is all wrapped up and complete. |

I have no idea, but my guess is:
- the cost would be higher as these are private contractors being brought in. So overtime for night crews may be an issue.
- the road work is in a residential area so impact to residents may be considered. Given the length of the job perhaps there was a feeling that doing so when people were at work would be easiest and less impacting to those who live with it every day. |

Why so impatient? Do you think it will not get done within the next week or so? |

I am not holding my breath for it to be completed within the next week....
And they repaved Main St. something like 10 years ago? at night. Had it completed within a couple of days with no impact to traffic and the citizens did not have an issue with it. Just don't see why they could not do the same thing with the bridge repaving. It would be completed in one night... |

More importantly, once the project is completed, what can we complain about next. The noise from the geese on the lake gets my vote. |

The bridge/dam portion looks great. Its the road surface bit that looks lumpy. I guess they'll fix it? |

Its done now and far from smooth--I hope before we sign off the engineer makes his comments available to the committee. |

I agree with you. It is very far from smooth. But how dare we complain...The whole job has been half ass'd thus far. Why start doing things the right way now? |

Serious question where is it unsmooth? I don't notice it being rough. I see the burm in the middle which is intentional to support drainage and part of the flood control. |
