My precious (5 1/4 inch shell) Russian tortoise was missing in seconds as of around 4:30pm Friday (July 24) mid yard 92 N. Main and all too late I found out he was seen last on sidewalk in front of 96 N. Main a.k.a. "Brainerd Institute" (apts.) and nudged onto grass. Thus lost near Plainsboro Rd & N. Main St. Offering reward. Description differentiating him mainly from other torts/turtles: breed has 4 toenails on each foot. Pet is healthy, licensed and doesn't bite; tortoise, not an aquatic turtle. (609)915-5757

I hope you find him and that no one brought him to the lake.

I let Jerry Thorne and our Public Works department know in case they see a Tortoise. Jerry serves as our animal control officer and is the head of public works. They may see it as they do work around town. Best of luck.

Thank you both. I will post here if, no, when he's found so no one wastes their time. Meanwhile, am a nervous wreck while he's still lost.

Will Applegate saw a picture of a turtle a local saw on plainsboro road in Cranbury posted to Instagram. So we headed out to try to find the turtle. We located it...It was the missing "Cranbury" turtle. Unfortunately an older, long gray haired biker(as in motorcycle) pulled over, grabbed the turtle and was informed by will that the Turtle belonged to the homeowner right across the street and also let him know that there are signs all around town about this missing turtle but the man didn't pay any mind to Will. He put the turtle in his pocket and said this turtle doesn't belong in a cage and then said he'd take it to a wildlife station... Then got on his bike in a hurry and drove off. The biker was wearing camo pants and on a silver motorcycle and had bushy gray hair and an extremely long white/gray beard. Please keep on the lookout for this described man because this is a rare and licensed pet to a Cranbury resident and should be returned. We notified turtle owner and he's reporting plate number that Will took and is contacting county wildlife centers. Keeping fingers crossed for a happy reunion soon......

I hope this was reported to the police. They can track the person down by his plate number in case that person decides it makes a cool pet of his own. At that point it becomes theft.
