Thank goodness! Now we can finally put whatever we want on Rt. 130 without having to worry about cow-towing to those annoying people who live there! |

This is part of the behind closed doors Committee ingratiasting tactics that in the end will not benefit the taxpayers. The behind the scenes Committee forces are at work! |

What is the vision you have for 130? Just curious. And how is it different from what's proposed in the revisions to the plan? And last, how is what's proposed going to hurt the town? All honest questions...not baiting you. I've not followed the process. |

What behind the scenes? This was all done in public meetings. The entire discussion, all the reports from the professionals, all the documents were public. |

Agree. There were a number of TC mtgs and the notes reflect it. Tap into did a story on it as well. It doesn't appear anything major is changed. Fast Food and such are not allowed to come in.
If people don't read the agenda, news or notes you can't blame the TC. |

How exactly is a "drive thru cafe" different than a fast food restaurant? |

Drive down rt 130 with your windows open. Smell fries, grease, etc..,
A cafe is like star bucks. How often do you walk past a star bucks and get a stench?
A cafe adds an impact like Mr Subs. Only difference is a drive through. I love mr Subs and there is no stench.
Also a cafe with drive through is not as large as wendy's, burger king or McDonalds.
We have a dunkin donuts approved and i do not see that as fast food since they do not bake on site. |

Besides there must clearly be a legal difference because one is allowed the other is not. |

Yes, but that is South Brunswick not Cranbury. We cannot control what another town does or does not allow. |

If you want to talk about a stench [ that burned meat smell] then ask Mr . Cook and the rest of the Committee members why every time there is a low pressuure weather system we have an acrid stench on Main street---they will tell you that although there is only supposed to be"office warehouse" in Prologis warehouse subdivision off Half Acre road they look the other way at the Con Agra facility that exhudes that stench in their processing facility! This is the town of "Selective Approvals and Enforcement".This Committee has run a flagrant scam on the voters based on their addiction to ratables and their "Benefits". Are these RATABLES in the best interest of the community and taxpayers or the ingration of the Committee???? |

How many school children do these warehouses hold? How many public roads are within the warehouse areas? How many millions do they add to our tax base?
Sorry, the warehouses bring in substantial revenue which is why our taxes are so low compared to similar priced homes in surrounding areas. Just look at a home in West Windsor. |

And how many COAH obligations $$$$$$ and Police officers $$$$ do the warehouses require? Oh and yes----wait until we have to pay for the Liberty Way Bridge $$$$ and also the dredging of Brainerd Lake for 8 million bucks--------remember the good old days of two police officers who really knew the community and a community for the people---- not a select few-----Ah yes, Mayberry is gone----------- |

How different are Dunkin Donuts and McDonald's?
Dunkin’ Donuts is #7 on Quick Serve Restaurant's List of Top 50 QSRs. Here's what the industry had to say... "The transformation of Dunkin’ Donuts into a broad-menu contender with a doughnut bent is quickening. The past year brought the sort of new products you might expect from a burger or sub specialist, like chicken and tuna wraps, a value menu, and a new snack called bagel twists."
McDonald's is still #1. Here's what QSR Magazine had to say about why... "Once smoothies and frappés were in the pipeline, McDonald’s wasted no time making another splash with beverages... Now units are being revamped into places where you might kick back with your latte, frappé, or$1 Coke."

To the last poster. While you may not like Dunkin Donuts, it's not McDonald's. I think the Planner knows the law a bit better in terms of distinguishing restaurants. It may be quick service, but so is Mr. Subs. This is not fast food either.
To the poster prior.
COAH obligations are no longer set by warehouse numbers and policing has several state mandates. You can't in this day and age have a two police officers not the least of which is safety related.
Liberty Way is not being built with Cranbury money that's been addressed numerous times.
The lake was dredged in the late 70's early 80's way before the warehouse district and will be dredged again as it's needed. If there was not a warehouse district then most of this would fall on residents.
Further, if not for the warehouse district this would be residential housing as the town could not afford to preserve this land. So we'd have a middle school, high school and taxes equal to West Windsor.
Our land preservation efforts have largely been able to be done through grants and by having the warehouse district supporting the rateable base.
Sorry, I believe with this TC we have a community for the people. |
