OLD BUSINESS
1. Field Use – Priority List – fees - penalties
Pari reported that they will be proceeding with the construction of the regulation baseball field. The commission decided that all game fields will have signs that state Game Fields – Permit Only – Organized Groups Only. Beth had suggested that we added penalties to the list; the penalties were agreed upon and added to the fee structure. Beth Veghte made a motion to approve the penalties and Ed Sekelsky seconded it. All in favor. Pari and Wayne will bring the priority list and fee structure to the next Committee Meeting. Bob O’Meara made a motion to pass the Commission Approved priority list and the fee structure as a separate document to be reviewed by the Committee and Township Attorney in ordinance with 36.3 and 36.4 of the township code book and Mario Fiorentini seconded it. All in favor. Beth and Ken will attend the committee meeting if there are any questions.
2. Recreation Master Plan
Jane, Bob and Beth attended the last meeting, they stated that it was very productive and the planner did a great job.
3. Budget
Ken to get a copy of the budget with the changes.
4. 2007 Concerts
Ken and Beth will make final arrangements for this year’s concerts.
5. Scholarship
Ken reported that he had not had time to look into the scholarship information. Ken will look into the legality of this and report back.
6. Request for rooms
Michele stated that she had spoken to CJ at the school and Ken will follow up if additional information is needed.
7. Battle of the Bands

Point 1 above is improper and borders on deceit. The message recently was that this was to be a town field. If our kids want to play a sandlot game then why force them to organize and get a permit? Can you imagine our town officals having to hand a 9 year old a ticket?
If we're spending a million dollars on a ball field then our kids should be able to use it when they want as opposed to getting fined. I should be able to take my child to the field and hit balls, play catch, etc...
When our children are playing video games inside rather then being active, we should do everything we can to encourage them to go out. This idea of a penalty and permit is just another way to ensure those who want the ball park for their own use get it.
Now the arguement may be that like a HS field it is to reduce wear. If that is the case, then my tax money should not be spent on a limited use field and it should be paid for by Babe Ruth and others who use it. Charge them a fee to use it. |

This field is a total waste of township money. Why not invest the money in our school, other parks, more rec programs, library, providing bus service that was taken away this year? |

If this is a permit only field, then why build it?
I'll vote for a resolution that prevents further tax money being spent on this project. |
