I’d sure like to know who Anon 829p is. This person has a bad case of “hate” against Jay. I’d put his dedication to Cranbury way above this individual who seems to think spreading hate is virtuous.

So, why has this important issue been reversed and become an attack on one individual? Is this a ploy to simply get off subject? We have many qualified town residents by virtue of their experience on the first aid squad or fire company (and even a past chief of police) to fill the position of OEM coordinator. We have been fortunate that we have not needed to activate the services of the OEM, but nevertheless it should be viewed as an extremely important position.

The services of the OEM coordinator has been active since March. The updates and communications issued by Chief Varga were in part due to his role as OEM coordinator. The OEM coordinator was responsible for ensuring the Executive Orders were implemented locally. This will be an on-going process, and will be the responsibility of the future OEM coordinator.

https://centraljersey.com/2020/09/02/cranbury-township-mayor-searches-for-new-oem-coordinator/

Article on the OEM. Interesting.

- Susan resigns as OEM head.

- Paper cites minimum requirements of experience as a first responder.

- Jay said he highly respects Susan, but said it is an issue of ensuring qualifications are met and process. Agrees to help Susan.

- Evelyn asked Matt to delay and be sure everyone on the TC was educated and situation understood. But it is a Mayor’s appointment.

- Based on comments it seems Evelyn and Jay are not told Susan resigned.

- Matt Scott- Mayor- Dem, Mike Ferrante Deputy Mayor Dem, Susan Dem Chair- Made a point of saying there was nothing political in the appointment. But they don’t answer how the legal qualifications are met for the role.

- Matt says it was not on him. He had no desire to do anything. It was the Chief and Administrator who made the recommendation. (Note- he was still responsible for the appointment.)

- Matt lays the blame on everyone except himself. “It is very important that everyone understands the situation with the new OEM coordinator was not of my making.”

This article is very interesting.

So Jay wasn’t going to accept politics over safety and the others except Evelyn and maybe Barbara were. Matt was not following the state law in the appointment and got caught. He is now trying to blame anyone and everyone else. Jay for raising the law, the Chief and Administrator for making a suggestion and even saying they were not following the law before. Everyone but himself for making the appointment (but that is not a weasel). And not just avoiding blame. Making it a point to tell people it is not his fault even though he is the only one able to make the final decision.

If ensuring public safety is the primary focus. That we’re actually doing what we should be doing while offering to help someone you feel was not qualified, if all that is being deceitful, lying and a weasel as he’s been called here then I am honestly okay. Give me that person on all five seats of the TC.

Better than those who want to ignore the law, appoint friends and when caught insult people.

Your insights are great. It's almost like you are a TC member.

It’s called reading the Press article and not being a party person. But thank you for saying that about my insights. My spouse would disagree.

To Anon-qq04: your name calling of Jay leads me to believe that you volunteer as much as Jay, or you’ve serviced on the TC for as many years as Jay, or you have done as much for Cranbury as Jay, his parents ( one of whom served on the school board and TC), or his grandparents (again of who 1 was a school board member and 1 a charter member and active in the CHS), or even his uncle who ran the History center. So, I guess since you are so active and beneficial to Cranbury, that you have the right to post such an absurd comment. After reading such an asinine comment, I fully understand why Jay will not run again, much to your pleasure, and much to the detriment of Cranbury.

I love the irony of the party loving Dems (not just the affiliated ones). They post hate has no home here signs in their yards, and yet are the most hate filled people I know.

Matt was caught lying, ignoring the legal requirements and all three Matt, Mike and Susan went out of their way to try and make a point there was no political patronage to the Press. When that happens it is clear this was political. No one is calling any of them names. Because that is not how non-Dems live their lives— grown adults insulting people. For the hard core Dems they have no other means of discussion other than to insult and name call. QQ04 and 829p if different people prove that point.

For years Matt and Mike cried that Dan and Jay kept them out of the loop and made decisions without them. Now that Matt and his Deputy are in power they have resorted to the same tactics. It is very sad that this appointment was not discussed with Evelyn, Barbara and Jay prior to the meeting. Anyone who says the mayor has equal power as the rest of the committee members is a dreamer.
It was surprising that neither Evelyn nor Barbara did not take any stand at the meeting but just let this appointment slide by. Barbara is lock step with Matt but Evelyn usually has better judgement and speaks her mind if something seems irregular.
On another note: The Administrator and the Attorney should be held accountable for their errors in guiding Matt on this matter.

what is the political gain for having Susan be the OEM? all i hear is excuses because Jay didn't like the selection and now he is going to "TAKES HIS TOYS AND GO HOME" like a pouting little child.

Again the Dems with the personal attacks. You guys tried to sneak one through and got caught. The law was not followed for the one position that leads the town in an emergency. Why not ask why our Police Officer who lives in town was passed over or why others with first responder experience were passed over.

If this is your attitude than glad to see you leave in 14 months when you retire.
