Starting with this Fall's incoming class, PHS' version of Critical Race Theory is now a graduation requirement. My experience with racial literacy training has varied significantly based on the content and instruction; some positive and enlightening, and others more divisive and denigrating. Would any parents who's children have taken PIRL as an elective class be willing to share what you know about the content and instruction of this new requirement and the positives and/or negatives of the experience for your child?

Future Fox News host - paving his own way. Well done Kid. You'll take over for Hannity in 10 years.

Isn’t English a class? Why isn’t grammar a bigger issue? What is going on in our schools?

PIRL went from being an elective to a requirement for some kids to now a requirement for all kids in PHS. The course covers some tricky subject matter, partially productive, partially just another guilt trip. My kid already believes white men are the root of all evil, so PIRL was not particularly impactful either way.

Apparently, religion was invented by white men to oppress all others.

As long as Jesus is a white guy growing up in the Middle East it's alright.
