Anyone not aware the Historical Society wants to expand the buffer zone up North Main, Evans, and small sections of Plainsboro and Cranbury Neck Rd. The meeting is on the 20th for anyone to oppose this unnecessary expansion of the district.

Why do you think it is unnecessary?

It puts an extra burden on residents not living in the historical downtown or in historical houses to go before another entity to fix/renovate their own property.

Where is that? In the last Masterplan review it was the exact opposite request and recommendation. Parts of evans, parts Wynnwood, and Cranbury Neck are in the buffer and should not be. The Masterplan recommended a correction to this so homes built in the 1950s were not having to go to HPC as is the case today.

Historical preservation is important and adherence will likely increase property values for most of the town. Would you please provide a link to the current outline of the historic district?.

I'm not saying the historical section of town isn't important. And I'm also in favor of turning the section out by Halsey Reed Rd. into a historical hamlet. When homeowners buy into the historical section of town that comes with a certain responsibility and it's known. They people who will be affected by this did not buy into that and their homes are not historical in nature.

I believe expansion of the Historical zone is a good adjustment toward preservation of the Historic environment and appearance of the town. Left unregulated, the country, farm atmosphere will disappear if left to personal taste.

By that token all developments should be preserved as remodels greatly impacted the surrounding homes.

I did hear that the Cranbury Station preservation as a historic district is going to move forward while the additional houses added to the buffer was not after hearing public feedback at the meeting. Win for all!

Great news. Now can we get the Historical Society or township to do something with the eyesore house pet project that was allowed to be located at Millstone Park and was supposed to be done by now yet seems to never have been started?

As with most construction projects CoViD probably had a major impact.

The Millstone Park project falls into the same category as the Barn project on Cranbury Neck Road, where 1 barn was renovated and the other 2 remain in disrepair. Government project with no accountability, no deadlines and lackluster results.

Please raise this issue @ the public meeting. The TC needs to hear from you.

The house project is done by the historical society as a private preservation project. The township is not involved other than renting the land.
