Did anyone get the chance to stop by at Heritage Park to see the breathtaking arrangement of American flags to help commemorate the 2oth anniversary of 9/11? A big thank you ought to go out to whoever is responsible for the idea. We must never forget that fateful day.

agree. It is absolutely beautiful. Went there today and just sat quietly. What a perfect way to remember 9/11. I wonder what our other organizations are doing if anything.

For those with kids there are many good books available like the towers are falling that would are good reading to help teach. My kids now approaching HS age said that 9/11 is not taught in school. Some teachers will casually mention it if there is school on that day. I think this should be required teaching with so many families impacted.

Schools have always glossed over recent history. The history classes usually run out of time and the books usually have very little on recent events. When I was in HS in the late '80's the Vietnam War and Watergate were barely acknowledged. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict wasn't even mentioned slightly. Not saying that's right or wrong, but its been a consistent pattern.
