Craft show to benefit Cranbury School

CRANBURY—The 11th annual Cranbury Craft Show will be held at the Cranbury School on Saturday, March 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, March 9 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The craft show raises money for the Cranbury Education Foundation, a nonprofit group that provides funding to the Cranbury School for materials that aren’t covered by the school budget, according to Education Foundation President Deanna Anderson.

”Our mission is to enhance the quality of education at the Cranbury School by working closely with the administration, parents and teachers,” Ms. Anderson said. “In the past, we’ve provided funds for playground equipment, improving the sound system in the auditorium, interactive chalk boards and the building of a large-group room. We want to keep the classrooms in the school up to speed technologically.”

Ms. Anderson said she expects around 100 crafters with booths, tables and displays set up throughout the school. Items for sale will range from pottery and jewelry to handmade dog biscuits.

”We have a jury process where the prospective crafters send applications and pictures of them making their crafts to try and guarantee that only handmade crafts are sold,” she said. “People will be able to purchase something for anywhere from $2 to $500 depending on the item.”

According to a press release, the show also will feature floral designs, brass rubbings, adult and children’s clothing, photography and more. Cranbury’s merchants are also supporting the show, by offering customers $5 off a purchase of $25 or more at Charmed by Claire, Pied Piper Kids and Patina Home.

Last year the show raised $23,000 for the Education Foundation, according to Ms. Anderson. She said they would love to raise a similar figure this year.
