So the vote is in and the PNC bank issue closed. We are now left with the burning question ....who will purchase and occupy the vacant building? Last night Mayor Stout noted some potential uses for the building. I thought it might make for an interesting thread to see what you personally would like to see on Main St. at this location? |

I'm sure it will be a commercial store or professional building. We no longer have to worry about what should be there. Now, any interested party can feel free to view and purchase the property. |

If I am the owner, I'll divide the building into two stores: 1) a coffee and deli with drive through, and 2) a tutoring center for school kids. |

Good Idea - a great coffee shop would be great. Maybe you could sell special coffee beans too. |

I believe Blue Rooster will cover the coffee angle - I think they are planning to sell coffee beans, too.
I think Dave Stout said that there could not be a drive-thru food place. He said something about drive thru's. |

The PNC bank had two drive-thru lanes. What's the difference between sitting in the car waiting for bank transaction and waiting for food transaction? |

we are too small of a town for a wawa. A nice restaurant with outside seating - sushi? |

Drive throughs are not in line with the town character and not allowed in the district from what I recall in our zoning rules. Prevents a McDonalds or Burger King establishment. |

Michael with all due respect, a WAWA would totally take away any sense of a historic building. If I'm not mistaken, all WAWA's must conform to a standard corporate cookie-cutter look. This look would only serve as an eye sore in our historic district. |

a WAWA might be good at the corner of old trenton road and main street. for non-locals, it is a pain to drive 25 mph to get a coffee in the town. |

I have seen them adapt to fit in to "historical" areas. It would just be nice to have a market style store in town again. |

Given the high gas price, a convenient store will have bright future. It will attract people to Main St. area as well. |

I agree, a WAWA would be fantastic. Let's just hope it isn't something negative like a go-go bar. |

How about a nice little corner store/market that sells bread, milk, and perhaps has a nice butcher and deli counter, as well as a produce section? It would be great to walk to to pick up whatever you need last-minute or forgot at the store. |

Today I was speaking with a friend of mine and she suggested that perhaps the building could be transformed into an "organic" type marketplace. I don't know how many people are into organics but these type products/produce seem to be very popular these days. |
