Local GOP looks to rebuild

Republicans have no representation on the five-member Township committee.
If you ask stalwart Republican and former Township Committee member Art Hasselbach about the state of his political party in Cranbury, he'll give you a frank response.

"What Republican Party?" he asks.

Mr. Hasselbach said the party is not unified and that it lacks strong leadership. Other local Republicans cite demographic factors that have contributed to a series of election losses and recent difficulties finding candidates to run for the Township Committee.
