Cranbury Male Found Guilty Of Indecent Sexual Assault

MALE FOUND GUILTY OF INDECENT SEXUAL ASSAULT AND CORRUPTIING THE MORALS OF TWO CHILDREN.

FREDERICK KELMER, W/M, 50 yrs, currently of the 200 block of Cranbury Station Road, Cranbury, New Jersey, was arrested by Lower Makefield Detectives on October 18, 2007, for the repeated Indecent Sexual Assaults of three female children between the ages of 5-years and 10-years-old.

On Wednesday June 25th, following a three-day jury trial before Honorable Judge David Heckler, the defendant was found guilty of six counts of Indecent Assault and two counts of Corruption of Minors on two of the three children. Kelmer was released on bail while awaiting sentencing.

Frederick Kelmer lived in Lower Makefield Township from 1998 through 2004 in the Makefield Glen Development where he cohabitated with his girlfriend and the mother of one of his victims. He repeatedly, sexually assaulted this child from the age of 5 to11 years. During these assaults, the defendant would place his hands under the child's clothing touching her chest area and buttocks. Defendant also had the victim place her hand on his genitals masturbating him.

The second victim was a childhood friend of the first victim, who would stop over to visit in 2000 or 2001 when she was 8 or 9 years old. While visiting, the defendant told the child that her friend was not at home, but he expected her soon. The defendant told Victim Two to wait on the couch in the front room and would turn on the TV for her. The defendant then sat down next to her and placed his hand under her shorts and stroked her genital area.
The investigators commend the victims who came forward to report this crime and their courage throughout the trial. Investigators believe that there may be additional victims, both in PA and NJ that were sexually abused by this male who are afraid to come forward.

That might be on the other side of route 130 - I guess, technically monroe. However, they did not give an exact address. Probably holding this info back just in case there are other victims. AND it doesn't mean he didn't come into Cranbury.

I see many newspapers (including the trenton times) and tv news had picked up the story and state that he lived in Cranbury. If he indeed lived in Monroe or Jamesburg, I hope TC officials will notify these agency and the media (even the Lower Makefield Police Dept) of this error.

I would hate to see fall thru the cracks and both the Cranbury Police and the Monroe Police should investigate. Afterall, he had been living in this area since 2004.

This is a disturbing thing. However, I think a point does need to be made it is Monroe and not Cranbury. A lot of media outlets use Cranbury because of the turnpike and that some of Monroe years ago (prior to the zip change) I believe had Cranbury addresses.

It's disgusting that some of Cranbury's residents are less concerned about the crimes this man committed then what side of 130 they were committed on. A child being abused is not any less repulsive if it happens in the township of Cranbury or in Monroe with a Cranbury mailing address.
